Sophos - Uninstallation Instructions for MacOS
 | Starting July of 2021, IS&T has migrated to a new version of Sophos called Sophos Central. MIT users have until the summer of 2022 before the old version will stop receiving updates. This page references the legacy version of Sophos. You can see documentation for the new Sophos Central here and download the newest version of Sophos here. |
 | Prerequisites: You must have administrator rights to uninstall Sophos AntiVirus. |
Note: If you can not locate the Sophos Anti-Virus Removal Tool outlined in Step 1, you can download the uninstaller directly from Sophos.
- Open the Finder and navigate to the folder Library > Sophos Anti-Virus.
Double-click on the file Remove Sophos Endpoint.app
Result: The Install Sophos Anti-Virus Removal wizard opens.
Click Continue.
Result: Destination Select option opens.
Select the disk for installation and click Continue.
Result: The Installation Type option opens.
Click Install.
Enter a Mac administrator username and password and click Install Software.
Wait for installer to finish. You are done - click Close.
- Run the Sophos Anti-Virus Removal program.
