Q: Can students get Microsoft Office for free?

  • Can students get Microsoft Office for free?
  • Are there any deals on Microsoft Office available for MIT students?

Context

  • Computing resources for MIT students
  • Microsoft Office

Answer

Microsoft Office is available at no charge to all registered students. You can download it via the MIT Software Grid. (MIT certificates required).

*Note Sloan students are required to download via the SloanPoint website.

Once downloaded, Microsoft Office needs to be activated which should occur automatically for users whose computers are correctly configured and connected to the MIT network via a wired or wireless connection.

If you encounter difficulty downloading or activating Microsoft Office, please contact the IS&T Service Desk at servicedesk@mit.edu or 617-253-1101.
