How do I uninstall-reinstall SAPgui for Windows?

SAPgui 7.40r3 for Windows

  1. On your computer, make sure that all SAP sessions are closed and SAP Logon Pad is shut down.
  2. Go to the Windows Control Panel
  3. Click on the function: ‘Programs and Features’
  4. Find the SAP GUI for Windows 7.40
  5. Select it, then right click to get the options, and click on the ‘Uninstall’ option
  6. If you see any other ‘SAP GUI for Windows’ folders, repeat the Uninstall for them too
  7. After SAP is uninstalled, go to the Windows Explorer to find the SAP folder(s) if they’re still there
  8. In Program Files on drive C:, you might find C:\Program Files\SAP
    • If it’s there, delete it
  9. Navigate to C:\Users
    • For each user, check for the existence of C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\SAP\Common
    • Any saplogon.ini file should be renamed to a value such as saplogin.ini.Sun 12-13-2015 15-29-30.97
    • If saplogon.ini exists, remove or rename it.
  10. Download SAPgui for Windows and re-install.
  11. After re-install, please restart the computer.
  12. Test the SAP connection.
