Sophos Central - Installation instructions for macOS

Before beginning, confirm that your version of macOS is supported by Sophos here: https://support.sophos.com/support/s/article/KB-000034670?language=en_US

1. Download the Sophos Central setup pkg file from the MIT Software Grid.
2. Once downloaded, double-click the pkg file to start the installation.
3. Click Continue and Install at the prompts to begin installation
4. Enter an admin password when prompted.
5. You will need to wait several minutes for the installer to grab the setup files from the cloud and then install them.
6. Typically, within 5-10 minutes, you will see a Sophos Central icon appear in the menu bar at the top right of your screen.
   
7. When prompted, open System Preferences -> Security and Privacy
8. Follow the steps at Sophos Central - Manually Approve the Sophos System Extensions - macOS to approve the Sophos Central system extensions.
9. Grant Sophos components Full Disk Access:
   1. Click on the Sophos icon in your menu bar, then click on "Open Sophos Endpoint"
      
   2. Click on "About" in the lower-right corner
      
   3. Click on "Run Diagnostic Tool"
      
   4. Select "Prerequisites" from the sidebar, then click "Allow Full Disk Access"
      
   5. Click on "Open Privacy & Security preferences".
   6. Drag the Sophos icon into the applications list in the Full Disk Access window.
      
   7. Select "Quit & Reopen" when prompted. Note that you may see multiple prompts, one for each Sophos component that needs approval.
      
10. It is recommended to reboot your computer now.
11. Congrats. Sophos Central is now installed.
12. You can click on the Sophos icon in the menu bar to access the user interface and confirm that your computer is protected.
