Q: How do I change a custom field from a select box, or list, to a drop down list in RT 4 ?

Answer

You must be a queue admin on the queue to which this custom field is applied. If you are not, please contact the appropriate queue admin.
  • Go to Tools > Configuration > Queues > Select
  • Select the queue where you want to change the custom field display
  • Select Ticket Custom Fields link in the upper right menu bar
  • The Selected Custom Fields section shows the custom fields applied to the queue
  • Click on the custom field, whose display you would like to change
  • Change Render Type to Dropdown
    render type menu
  • Click on Save Changes
