Q: I want to print my MIT ID card at a kiosk. What do I need to do first on the Atlas mobile app?

Answer

To print your ID card on a kiosk, you must first generate a QR code on the MIT Atlas mobile app (available on iOS or Android). This QR code can be used to (1) gain access to the building the kiosk is located and (2) start the card printing process at the card kiosk.

Below are the 6 steps to follow on the Atlas mobile app to generating your QR code

Step 1 - Open the MIT Atlas app on your mobile device

Step 2 - Open the Menu, scroll to the bottom and select Profile

Step 3 - Click on the MIT ID Card link

Step 4 - Click on the red button Generate QR Code

Step 5 - Wait while your QR Code is generated, usually less than 30 seconds.

Step 6 - Your QR Code should appear in the center of the screen

You may now use this QR code to enter the building with the kiosk and scan at the kiosk to start the printing process!

ALERT: It may take up to 30 minutes for the external door access to be synch'ed from the time you first generate the QR code. Please be patient if you attempt to open the door sooner than 30 minutes.
