Why am I creating a campus "service request" instead of a work order?

In the new Campus Service Requests application, available from Atlas, all services start as a request.

  • In some cases, Facilities will create a work order. For example, to fix a broken sink.
  • In some cases, there will be multiple requests, mapped to the same work order. For example, multiple people reported the same broken sink.
  • In some cases, one request may result in multiple work orders. For example, you may put in a request for carpeting and painting for an office space that suffered water damage. Facilities will create multiple work orders and Facilities will manage the timing of the multiple aspects of the work.
  • Any work order numbers that are related to the request will be displayed on the request.
