ServiceNow Madrid Update
Overview
ServiceNow is upgraded annually to provide the latest features, stability and security updates. This year's upgrade of ServiceNow from Jakarta to Madrid is scheduled for Friday night, June 7th.
Teams from across the MIT Community that use ServiceNow (Incident, Asset, Repair & Loaner, Knowledge, Change, Atlas Service Center) have been testing this upgrade over the past few weeks. If you think you’ve found a problem caused by the upgrade, report it to the Service Desk by calling 617 253-1101.
Major Changes
- ServiceNow is becoming more mobile friendly by a using click rather than hover for the record preview feature. Previously you could preview a record by hovering over the reference icon () with your mouse, but a tablet has no mouse, so now you click the icon instead.
The reference icon will appear to the right of any form field which contains the name of a user, or any other value which will open a record in another table. Click “Open Record” to see the full record.
Now you have to click on the reference icon to see the preview, not just hover over it with your pointer.
- If you don’t use dashboards yet, ServiceNow will prompt you to convert your homepage to a dashboard on your first post-upgrade login. If you're not interested, you can select the option to not see the reminder again.
