Calendar Mac OSX (10.10 and newer) Calendaring - Set Sharing or Delegate Permissions
Permission Levels
If you wish to have access to another person's calendar, send an email to that person and request that they give you sharing permission on their calendar.
Set Sharing Permission
When sharing your calendar, you control how much detail others may see. The default setting for an individual is "None". The sharing permission you likely want for the majority of situations at MIT is "Read Only".
The kinds of permissions that can be given with Calendar are:
- Read & Write - This is often called delegate access. The person you give these permissions can read, create, and modify items in your calendar.
- Read & Create - The person you give this permission can see existing items and create new items, but cannot modify existing items.
- Read Only - This is often called calendar sharing. The person you give this permission can see your calendar data, but cannot make any changes or add new items.
- No Access - The person you give this permission has no access to your calendar. They can not see or modify any of your data. They can still send you invitations and determine if you are free via the scheduling assistant.
