TSM Basic Service Level - Directories That Are Backed Up

When you choose the Basic Service level, only files in the directories and their subdirectories listed below will be backed up.
These directories and their subdirectories are the default locations for each operating system for storing a user's data. If the data you want to back up is not stored within these specific directories, it will not be backed up.

Directories

  • Mac OS X: /Users folder and everything under it.
  • Unix/Linux:
    • /home directory and everything under it.
    • /etc directory and everything under it.
  • Windows:
    • Documents and Settings folder and everything under it.
    • Users folder and everything under it.

Notes:

  • For a manual backup, you choose the files in these directories that you want to back up.
  • For a scheduled backup, the files in these directories will be backed up automatically.
