Installing PyMOL 2.0 and later

Download the installation archive for your platform and license key from the IS&T software grid.

All platforms: On first launch PyMOL will request a license file. Navigate to the location where you downloaded it and select it to enter the information. The license file expires annually and will need to be updated to ensure full functionality. The current expiration date is 2/11/22.

The default license installation is per-user. The license can be installed for all users by placing the license file in the following directory: $PREFIX/share/pymol where $PREFIX is:

• The installation directory (Lnx)
• C:\PyMOL (Win)
• /Applications/Pymol.app/Contents (Mac)
