Q: I've created a query that uses the Limit feature and when I run the query I don't get any data. What's wrong?
Answer
Here are four possible reasons why this might be happening:
- There are no data satisfying the limit, or combination of limits, that you set. Try changing the limit(s) to see if data are returned.
- Oracle is case sensitive which means that you need to use limit values that are consistent with the format of the data. For example, Personnel data is in all upper case, so you need to enter any Limit values you use for Personnel data in all upper case.
- You may not have authorization to access the data. You need to request and be granted access authorization from the providers of the data before you can run this query.
- You may have an invalid join set up between tables. Go back and double-check the joins you've set up.
