Q: How do I Restore my Word or Excel Scroll Bar?

Some applications have options to hide the scroll bars. To ensure that all scroll bars are visible:

In Word

1. Click on the File menu then Options.
2. Select Advanced from the sidebar.
3. Scroll to the section for Display.
4. Ensure that the Show horizontal scroll bar and Show vertical scroll bar options are selected.
5. Click OK.

In Excel

1. Click on the File menu then Options.
2. Select Advanced from the sidebar.
3. Scroll to the section for Display options for this workbook.
4. Ensure that the Show horizontal scroll bar and Show vertical scroll bar options are selected.
5. Click OK.

If all else fails

You may have some kind of registry, com or configuration file corruption causing this. Your best bet is:

1. Uninstall the application completely.
2. Reinstall it.
