macOS Unidentified Developer Error when Installing an Application

Apple has increased their security in macOS Mojave and later versions. When you install an application you may get an "unidentified developer" error and the application will not install.To resolve this issue you can perform either of the following steps:

  • Control-click the application and choose "Open."
  • You can also go to Apple, Security Preferences, Security & Privacy, then click General.
