Unsubscribe from mailman list

Context

• Applies to MIT distribution lists on the Mailman server
• If you're not sure what kind of list you are on, see How to tell if a list is a mailman list

Solution

• Go to the list web page, usually https://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/LISTNAME – where LISTNAME is the name of the Mailman list
• Scroll to the bottom and click on the Unsubscribe or edit options button
• On the list options page enter your email address and Mailman list password, then click the Unsubscribe button to remove yourself from the list

If you do not know your Mailman list password, you may need to request a password reminder using the Remind button in the Password Reminder section of the options page, before you will be able to unsubscribe.

Alternative

You can also send mail to LISTNAME-owner@mit.edu asking one of the list owners to manually to remove you.
