RFC_ERROR_LOGON_FAILURE No suitable SAP user found for x509 certificate - Atlas error message

I am trying to access Atlas, and am getting the following error message:

This application encountered an error from which it cannot recover

Solution

This error message may indicate one of two possibilities:

  1. There may be a difference between your full name as it is listed in your MIT personal certificate and the full name in your SAP record.
To check the full name in your MIT personal certificate:
    1. Navigate, in your web browser, to: http://web.mit.edu/certificates/test/
    2. Select the link Click here to test your certificate.

Contact the IS&T Service Desk, at servicedesk@mit.edu or x3-1101, and let them know the value for your full name, as listed for: SSL_CLIENT_CN.

  2. If you are a Lincoln Laboratory Employee, your kerberos account may be in a "half registered" state.
This happens if you have a kerberos username (this is created automatically for LL staff), but you have not completed the process by creating your kerberos password. Until that happens, your SAP account is not created. You can complete the registration process at: http://web.mit.edu/register Your Atlas access should take effect within 48 hours.
