Oracle 9i or Oracle 11gR2 - Instructions for Uninstall

Uninstall Oracle 9i

NOTE: It is not necessary to uninstall Oracle 9i in order to use Oracle 11g.

If you wish to uninstall Oracle 9i, follow the steps below.

  1. For Windows 7, follow the menu path Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features, or for Windows XP follow Add or Remove Programs
  2. Select MIT Oracle 9i core.
  3. Windows 7: When prompted, choose Yes to uninstall Oracle 9i.
    Windows XP: Choose Remove. When prompted, choose Yes to uninstall Oracle 9i.

Uninstall Oracle 11g

  1. Follow the menu path Start > Programs > Oracle > Oracle Installation Products > Universal Installer.
  2. If prompted, select Yes to the User Account Control dialog, to allow the Oracle installer to launch.
    Result: Oracle Universal Installer launches.
  3. Select Deinstall Products.
  4. Expand Oracle Homes, and select Oracle 11g.
  5. Choose Remove, and follow the prompts to uninstall the product.
