NameConnector

MIT's NameConnector makes it easy to place a phone call to someone or some service you know about on campus.

• From a campus phone, dial zero, wait for 'you've reached MIT' then (without waiting for the prompt to finish) you can say the name of a faculty or staff person, or a department (including MIT Coop and other places), and you are connected...saves having to lookup on line or in phone book. (And you don't have to worry about spelling, as long as you know the pronunciation!)

• If you are off campus, simply call 617 253 1000 - again, you can interrupt the prompt and say the name of the person or dept...very useful if you are running late to a meeting, or getting to the office.
