Microsoft Intune - New Device Setup - Pre-provisioning

Prior to pre-provisioning an Intune managed computer, the computer's Intune - Autopilot and how to get the Hardware Hash.

Device pre-provisioning allows an IT technician to install apps and configurations for a device prior to handing it to an end user, as opposed to zero touch imaging where a device is shipped directly to an end user and they log in to receive apps and configurations. This speeds the end user experience but requires technician time.

Process

Start up the out-of-the-box experience, and proceed through the initial setup process. If it's not a new computer you will need to reset the device.

Join a network. The computer may reboot at this point. Proceed clicking Next until you get to the Sign In section.

Press the Windows key 5 times (you may need to click in the username field first). This will bring up the Pre-provisioning option. Select "Pre-provision with Windows Autopilot" and then click Next.

The Pre-provision page with information about the Autopilot profile and tenant will be shown. Click Next one more time to start the pre-provisioning process. Once the pre-provisioning process has been completed, you will be prompted to Reseal the computer. This will shutdown the computer.
