Microsoft 365 Post-Migration - Outlook for iOS

On this page:

Updating Outlook Mail Settings on your iOS device for M365

Once the mailbox is successfully migrated to Microsoft 365, the Outlook App in your Apple iPhone/iPad should automatically receive new settings telling it to retrieve mail from Microsoft 365.

Duo Authentication

You may receive prompts to authenticate via Touchstone and Duo. Select the method for Kerberos authentication (either Certificate or username/password) and your preferred Duo authentication method as you normally would.

Delete and Reconnect Your Account

If your settings do not automatically update, you will need to delete and re-add your account.

  1. Open the Outlook App.
  2. Click on Your Profile Icon > Gear Icon > Your MIT Mail Account

Your MIT Mail account may say either Exchange or M365 depending on how far along it got in updating the settings.

  3. Scroll down all the way, and click on Delete Account
  4. Confirm that you want to Delete
Result: Your account is deleted and you are either taken back to settings where you can click "Add Account" or you are directly prompted to add an account (if your MIT account was the only one you had configured in the Outlook app).
  5. Enter your full MIT email address and click Add Account.

Result: Your account is added and you may be prompted to authenticate via Touchstone and Duo.
  6. Authenticate as prompted.
Result: Your account is ready to use and you are taken to your inbox.
