MakerLodge - Adobe Premiere Pro Jump Start
Quick Steps
- Create folder on machine to hold Premiere project file and all media (videos, graphics, etc.)
- Open Premiere and start a new project.
- Import media files (import raw video first so all other media will automatically have the correct dimensions).
- Edit video clips in staging area (set in and out points) and drag to timeline.
- Add title slide to timeline.
- Add title text to new track on top of title slide. (File > Title > New Title)
- Animate title text (Effects > Motion > Position).
- Add transitions to title slide, title text, and videos (Effects panel > Video Transitions > Dissolve).
- Add rolling end credits (Title > New Title > Default Roll). Be sure to open the Roll/Crawl Options panel and select both *Start Off Screen *and *End Off Screen *options.
- Export media (File > Export > Media). Select format H.264 for YouTube or web delivery.
Tips
- The {~} key toggles the selected panel to full screen.
- The {+} and - keys zoom in and out on the timeline.
- To remove the audio track from a video, select it on the timeline, right-click, and select the Unlink option. You can then delete the audio track so that you can record a voice over instead.
- Rolling edits/delete = does not change the length of the timeline, i.e., clips will override.
- Ripple edits/delete = changes the length of the timeline.
- Add an audio track by going to Sequence > Add track.
