Bosch Alarm System

Overview

In December of 2019, MIT replaced physical access control systems campus-wide with Bosch alarm systems. The Bosch alarm system retained all setting from the legacy system, including space configurations and schedules.

Arming, Disarming, and Clearing Alarms

Arm your system

  1. Press the Ready to arm icon: .
  2. Enter your 6 digit Bosch Intrusion alarm PIN.
  3. Press the Enter button.
  4. System will begin counting down and will be armed.

Disarm your system

  1. Press the On (armed) icon or the System Partially Armed icon .
  2. Enter your 6 digit Bosch Intrusion alarm PIN.
  3. Press the Enter button.

Silence and clear your active alarm

  1. Press the Alarm icon .
  2. Enter your 6 digit Bosch Intrusion alarm PIN.
  3. Press CLEAR.

What if I enter the wrong PIN?

  • Press ENTER. Then follow the steps above to silence and clear the alarm again.

or

  • The arrow with an “X” is a backspace key you can use to delete the wrong PIN and try again.

Bosch alarm panel icons

There are several areas on the alarm panel with informational or functional icons, including the Main icon in the center, the Status icons on the left side, and the Ribbon bar along the bottom. Each area's icons are explained below.

Main icon

The Main icon, in the center, serves as both an indicator of the arming state and alarms, and allows you to change the arming state.

Ready to arm: Indicates that the system is ready to turn on (arm).
Press the icon to turn on (arm) the security system.

Not ready to arm: Indicates that the system is not ready to turn on (arm).
Press the desired icon to resolve the faults.

On (armed): Indicates that the system is on (armed).
Press the icon and enter your passcode to turn off (disarm) the security system.

System Partially Armed: Indicates that a multiple area system
is not completely armed and at least one area remains disarmed.

Alarm: Shows the security system is in alarm.
Press the icon and enter your passcode to silence any alarms.

Status Icons

The Status icons provide a quick visual reference for you to see how your system is operating. They show for every screen. You do not interact with these icons.

Ready to arm: This indicates that the system is ready to turn on (arm).


On (armed): This indicates that the system is on (armed).


Trouble: This lights when a trouble condition exists.


Power: This lights to indicate the control power has AC power.



Ribbon Bar

The Ribbon bar includes icons for interacting with your keypad, and displays the date and time. Ribbon bar icons light only when available.

  • Home button - Return to the home (idle) screen .
  • Previous/Next (left/right arrows) - These icons light when the keypad has more information than it can show at once. Press to scroll through the lists/text.
  • Escape (angled arrow)- Returns to one menu level above or exits a function.
  • Shortcuts (star) - Not available on MIT's system.
  • Main Menu (three dots) - You can access all of the features of your keypad through the menu structure.
  • Keypad - Press to access the keypad screen. Use the keypad to enter your passcode, or issue commands.
  • Emergency (asterisk) - Not available on MIT's system.
  • Help (question mark)- Displays context-sensitive help.
