Save an SAP print spool as a local file - how can I accomplish this?

When you run a job or report that creates print output, an electronic copy or "print spool" is created in SAP. By default these are retained for 8 days before being deleted. Please note, all existing print spools will be removed during this weekend's maintenance beginning at 6pm Friday. If you need to keep the contents of a print spool beyond Friday, the best options are to either (A) save the print spool to a local file or (B) if it's small, print a hardcopy.

Instructions for saving an SAP print spool as a local file

  1. Run SAP transaction SP01, enter the date range of when the spool was created, click on the execute (F8) button. You will see similar screen to this:

  2. Select the spool desired, then click on the eyeglasses icon, Display Contents (F6).

  3. From this screen above, follow the menu highlighted about to save the spool as a local file.
