Creating a Service Request

This documentation refers to the Atlas Online Gateway.
You can access Atlas at https://atlas.mit.edu/
  • Events can be created for Buildings (excluding CAC buildings) and Greenspaces. Events in Residences may only be created by the House Manager.
  • For events in CAC buildings, contact CAC here: http://studentlife.mit.edu/cac
  • All information for a request can now be entered on the web form in Atlas. The VIP form is no longer needed.
  • All event requests should begin from Event Setup in Atlas, not from a Cleaning request.
  • All tasks related to an event, including cleaning, can be entered on the same request. This will generate one work order, with multiple teams (Custodial, Grounds, etc.) on the same order.
  • Facilities does not supply chairs in excess of 20. If you are supplying your own chairs and just need Facilities to set them up, then enter a small number into the chairs field, and provide the details in the Special Instructions on the third page.
  • The Approximate number of guests should be entered so that Facilities can ensure that the other items requested (trash barrels, recycle bins, etc.) match the size of the event, and make adjustments if needed.
  • Attachments should be added to inform Facilities about the event layout
  • If the event is outside, a checkbox Alcohol will be served will be visible. If you will be serving alcohol, please check this box to let Facilities know that a beer-garden setup will be required. You should still obtain the correct permitting for serving alcohol on campus.
