"Error in connection file ... Cannot find section 'smartcard' ", Citrix error message

I am trying to launch an application via Citrix, and am getting an error:

Error in connection file "/Users/username/Library/Preferences/Citrix ICA Client/Modules": 
Cannot find section "Smartcard".

Error number: 11

Solution

One possibility for this error is that you are using a launch.ica file that is incompatible with the version 10 Citrix client.

Citrix 10 requires an updated version of the launch.ica file.

Alternate Solution

If you have verified that you are using the updated launch.ica file, and still receiving the error, complete the following steps:

1. Move the following folder to the Trash: User home > Library > Preferences > Cirix ICA Client
2. Check if the following folder exists. If so, move it to the Trash: Macintosh HD > Library > Preferences > Citrix ICA Client.
3. Re-run the installer for the version 10 client. See: [Citrix 10 for Macintosh - Installation Instructions]

Note for MacOS 10.7 users: in MacOS 10.7, your user library folder is hidden by default. You can access it by activating the Finder (click on the finder icon on your dock, or an an empty portion of your desktop), then hold down the Option key while you click on the Go menu. From there, choose Library.
