Q: How do I clear my browser's cache automatically each time I close Firefox?

Answer

For Windows:

  1. Navigate to Tools > Options
  2. Click on the Privacy tab. It looks like a mask.
  3. In the "History" section next to "Firefox will:", select Use Custom Settings for History from the drop down menu.
  4. Check the box for "Clear history when Firefox closes"
  5. Click Settings
  6. Be sure the box for "Cache" is checked.
  7. Click OK, then click OK again.

For MacOS:

  1. Navigate to Firefox > Preferences
  2. Click on the Privacy tab. It looks like a mask.
  3. In the "History" section next to "Firefox will:", select Use Custom Settings for History from the drop down menu.
  4. Check the box next to "Clear History when Firefox Closes."
  5. Click Settings
  6. Be sure the box for "Cache" is checked.
  7. Close the "Preferences" window.
