Context
- Mac OS
- Eudora
Answer
You can set up Apple Mail, and you can use a tool named Eudora Mailbox Cleaner to import Eudora messages into local folders in Apple Mail.
- First, set up Apple Mail using the standard IS&T instructions. Make sure to set up an IMAP account, not a POP account.
- Confirm that Apple Mail can send and receive mail.
- Second, use Eudora Mailbox Cleaner:
- Get it from the web: http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/7050/eudora-mailbox-cleaner
The "download" section is about 1/4 of the way down the page. - After downloading, open the disk image and drag the app to the Applications folder.
- Locate your Eudora data folder - it normally is located at "~/Documents/Eudora Folder" on MacOS X
- Drag the Eudora data folder and drop it onto the Eudora Mailbox Cleaner app.
- Choose what to import - Mailboxes, Nicknames, Filters.
- Get it from the web: http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/7050/eudora-mailbox-cleaner
After importing Mailboxes, you will see new folders in Mail called "imported / inbox".
You may need to "Repair" the imported folders from within Mail to make the imported messages show up.
