Q: Where is Wiki Markup view in the wikis.mit.edu editor

  • Why can't I edit my Wiki page in Wiki Markup anymore?
  • Can I switch to Wiki Markup view instead of Rich Text?

Context

  • wikis.mit.edu

Answer

Starting with the upgrade to Confluence 4, Atlassian stopped storing pages in wiki markup view and switched to storing them in XML. Though you are still able to insert wiki markup into a page, it will be converted and stored as XML and only editable as Rich Text.

Some pages with very complex wiki markup may not have migrated cleanly to Rich Text. If this is the case, you can convert them using the Wiki Markup Macro. For instructions, see Why am I seeing wiki markup instead of Rich Text in MIT Wikis?
