Hiding Your Site Until It's Ready (Maintenance Mode)

You can place your site into maintenance mode to hide it from the public while it is being developed.

To put your site into maintenance mode:

  1. Click Configuration, then Development, then Maintenance mode.
  2. Check the box for Put site into maintenance mode. You may also add a message.

To log in to your site while it is in maintenance mode:

  1. Enter the url for your site and append /user (e.g. mysite.mit.edu/user).
  2. Click the Login using Touchstone" link.

To take your site out of maintenance mode:

  1. Return to the Development page (see above).
  2. Uncheck the box Put site into maintenance mode.
