Finding an Athena directory path from the web site's URL

If a client doesn't know the directory path for their web site hosted on web.mit.edu, you can find the directory path by using the attach command on Athena.

For example, if you want to know what the AFS directory is for web.mit.edu/mit-greece. Log in to Athena and type attach mit-greece and the path will be returned.

athena% attach mit-greece
attach: /afs/athena.mit.edu/activity/m/mit-greece attached to /mit/mit-greece for filesystem mit-greece
