Disable auto-correction of spelling in Mac OS X
Primer
- Since Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion), Apple has included a feature that automatically corrects common misspellings; similar to the behavior in Apple's iOS. This guide will show you how to disable this feature.
Instructions
- Navigate to System Preferences.
- Select Language & Region preference pane.
- Select Keyboard Preferences... located in the bottom of the window
- Select the tab labeled Text.
- Uncheck the box labeled Correct spelling automatically.
- Close the System Preferences window. Spelling auto-correct is now turned off.
