Q: Who is can get an Online Archive associated with their account?

Anyone with an Exchange Online (o365) email account can request an Online Archive. Some users with exceptionally high quotas will automatically receive an Online Archive.

Q: How should I use the Online Archive?

You should use it for long-term storage of email. Note that the Online Archive is slower than your main Mailbox, so it is not the best option for frequently accessed email and folders.

Q: How can I copy mail to my Online Archive?

At this time, only Microsoft Outlook clients and OWA can access the Online Archive. Use these clients to copy mail as if it were another folder. In Outlook for Mac, the Archive is displayed as a folder named "Online Archive". In Outlook for PC, the Archive shows up as a separate mailbox named 'Online Archive - youremail@mit.edu'. In OWA, the Archive is named 'In-Place Archive - Your Name'.
