Q: How do I view my old MH mail in Evolution on Debathena?

Launch Evolution, and choose "Preferences" from the "Edit" menu.
Select "Mail Accounts" in the left pane of the window, and then click the "Add" button at the top right. This will launch the Evolution Account Assistant.
Click "Forward" to begin the process.
Fill in your full name and e-mail address and click "Forward"
On the "Receiving Email" screen, select "MH-format mail directories" for "Server type".
Under Configuration, click the dropdown menu next to "Path" and select "Other".
(If necessary, ensure that your home directory /mit/username is displayed) Select the "Mail" directory in your home directory and click "Open". Be sure to select "Mail" with a capital 'M'. Pine users will also have a directory named "mail", but that mail is not in MH format.
Verify that the correct Path is select, and click "Forward".
On the "Receiving Options" screen, leave both boxes unchecked. Click "Forward"
On the "Sending Email" screen, choose "Sendmail" as the "Server Type"
On the "Account Management" screen, enter "Old MH Mail" for the account name.
Click "Apply" on the final screen, and you should see the new account in your Evolution preferences.

Important

When you first attempt to view your MH mail, Evolution will need to scan every message in the folder. For large folders, this can take some time. The status bar at the bottom of the screen will indicate that Evolution is still scanning the folder. We do not recommend you quit or interrupt this process, or it may cause Evolution be unable to read that folder in the future.
