What authorizations are needed in order to reserve visitor parking and to purchase departmental parking passes?

Overview

  • The Reserve Visitor Parking is used to reserve parking in MIT lots.
  • The Departmental Parking Passes link is used to purchase visitor scratch passes (One day Department Pass). For other kind of temporary parking permits, please contact Parking and Transportation Office.

Authorizations needed

  • If you need to reserve visitor parking, the Financial Authorizer for your department, lab or center can grant that the authorization AIMS MAINT VISITOR PARKING RES be added for you in the Roles Database.
  • If you need to purchase temporary parking permits, aka "scratch passes", the Financial Authorizer for your department, lab or center can grant that the authorization AIMS MAINT VISITOR PARKING RES be added for you in the Roles Database. 
  • Users also need “CAN SPEND OR COMMIT FUNDS” role in roles Database for the Cost Object that they plan to use to reserve visitor parking or order visitor scratch passes
  • For questions, contact the Financial Primary Authorizer for your department, lab or center. If you need assistance in identifying that person, contact the IS&T Help Desk, letting them know the cost object you will be using for visitor parking permit.
