Q: What is the Spam Quarantine service?

Context

  • Spam filtering for MIT email accounts
  • MIT Exchange Email

Answer

Spam Quarantine is a spam filtering system for MIT's email service. The Brightmail AntiSpam appliance scans all incoming email messages before they are delivered to your mailbox. The messages that are identified as spam are immediately put in the Brightmail Spam Quarantine instead of being delivered to your inbox. You can use this page to view items in quarantine, manage your senders lists and your language settings. Spam Quarantine catches most spam and deletes it after two weeks. For more information on Spam Quarantine for MIT email, see Spam Filtering.
