Q: (Chrome) How do I stop my browser from downloading instead of displaying the Sylantro interface when I go to Sylantro.mit.edu?

Note For Chrome version 62 or higher.
NOTE: This fix does not work with Chrome version 62 or higher. At this time, Chrome version 62 or higher will not support the use of Sylantro.mit.edu. We recommend that you use another browser - such as FireFox.

Answer

  1. Click on the 3 vertical dots on the upper right section of Chrome and choose "Settings" from the pop-up menu.


  2. Scroll to the bottom of the "Settings" page and click "Advanced Settings".


  3. Click on "Content Settings" and choose "Allow sites to run Flash" under the "Flash" section.


  4. Click "Done". Quit, then restart Chrome.

Steps for newer versions of Chrome

If the instructions and screen shots don't look the same as your version of Chrome, you may have a newer version. Please follow the steps below for newer versions of Chrome.

  1. Click on the 3 vertical dots on the upper right section of Chrome and choose "Settings" from the pop-up menu.


  2. Scroll to the bottom of the "Settings" page and click "Advanced Settings".


  3. Click on "Content Settings".


  4. Click "Flash".


  5. Make sure "Allow sites to run Flash" is on.


  6. Click "Done". Quit, then restart Chrome.
