Q: Does running a Spirion scan slow down my computer?

Answer

The scan works may impact you while you do your regular work. If you have an older computer, you might notice the scanning tool slows down the performance of your computer; in that case it is advised to consider running the scan overnight.

An initial scan can take anywhere from a few minutes, to a couple hours, to overnight, depending on the number of files on the computer and the number of data elements selected for scanning. Subsequent scans are faster, since only new/updated files are scanned.

You can minimize the program while it is scanning or lock your computer. However, if you close the program or Log Off from your computer, your scan results will be lost, forcing you to restart a scan.
