Q: How can I get more web publishing space on the MIT web servers?

Answer

If the locker for which you would like to request more space is an "org locker" (the path looks like /afs/athena/org/l/lockername/) and the space is being used for web publishing, contact MIT Service Desk. You may be able to have your disk quota increased free of charge.

There's a hard per-volume limit on disk quota (currently 25G) but most web projects do not need anything approaching this volume. We don't recommend trying to do streaming video content out of AFS/web.mit.edu, so any request for greater than 6G will need us to understand the use case in some detail.
