Microsoft activation for Graduates - perpetual scripts for Office and Windows

Congratulations on your graduation!

As an MIT graduate you need to take action if you would like to convert your Microsoft Enterprise Windows and Office licenses for Students to perpetual, non-upgradeable, right-to-use licenses for graduates.

Note: There is no Graduate Licensing Script needed for Macintosh versions of Office, so Mac users do not need to take any action.

What does this mean to you?

Upon graduating your student status at the Institute will immediately change from student to affiliate as you will no longer be registered for classes. You should have received an email from us AFTER you have graduated, that pointed you to this page. There will be a short window of opportunity; before your certificates expire, where you will still have access to the downloads on this page. If you found this page prior to graduation, and/or before we send an email to the list we receive from the Registrar's Office, then please go to this page For Students - Leaving MIT and take care of the actionable items we have suggested there.

  • By activating your licenses in a timely manner, while your MIT certificates are valid, you can continue to run the Microsoft Enterprise version of Windows or Office you downloaded from IS&T without interruption.
  • If you do not take steps to activate your licenses, the Enterprise version of Windows and/or Office you downloaded from MIT will be disabled about six months after you graduate.

Licensing Notes

  • The software is not upgradeable.
  • The Graduate Licensing Script will ONLY work with the Microsoft Enterprise version of the software you downloaded from IS&T while at MIT, and will NOT work with any other version (i.e. Office 365 web installed to local machines).
  • Graduates are not licensed to download software after leaving MIT.

What do you need to do?

  • IS&T recommends that you activate your license As soon as you receive our email.
  • To activate you need to register your installation with a perpetual activation key using the appropriate Graduate Licensing Scripts below.
