Viewing Student Photos
Why can I see photos for only some class participants?
- Student photos are only available for students listed in the Official Class List. The class list is automatically populated with data from WebSIS and this includes the student photos.
- Photos will not be displayed for non-registered students. See LMOD- When will the student status be displayed as Registered?
- Photos will not be displayed for students with CAMS accounts.
- For course sites for which the MSID feed has been removed.
- Legacy Stellar membership would check manually added students against the official roster and list those on the roster as registered and display their photos. Currently, LMOD membership does not check manually added students against the roster and therefore NO photos are displayed. Stellar Support team is working on a solution, and a JIRA ticket is open.
Where do the photos come from?
- The photos originate from the Card Office and are loaded from the Data Warehouse. There may be a delay between when a student appears on the class roster and when the photo is loaded from the warehouse.
- There is no functionality to upload your own photo.
- In general, Stellar updates the photos on the 1st and 15th of each month.
How do photos differ in LMOD Membership from Legacy Stellar Membership?
- They seem to be a bit smaller. Zooming in on the browser (Ctr + or Command +) helps.
- Try that first. Otherwise, there is a workaround for access legacy Stellar, but we're trying to avoid it unless absolutely necessary.
Instructions for printing student photos in Membership Services
- For most Stellar sites, when you click Membership, you should see a list of students, with their pictures.
- If there are sections for the course site, for most course sites, you will be able to click on the section roster and view the list of students for that section with their photos.
- You may find it helpful to increase the font size on the page, which will also increase the photo size. In most cases, this can be done by holding down the Control key (on Windows) or Command key (on Macintosh), then clicking the + key several times.
- You can then print the browser page. In your web browser, follow the menu path File > Print.
