Video and Recording - Accessibility

Captions are the simplest way to make a video accessible for the visually impaired. Zoom, Panopto and WebEx all offer different closed captioning solutions.

Zoom

Hosts can designate a participant to type Closed Captions from within a meeting, as long as the setting is enabled on the account.

Panopto

Panopto offers automatic speech recognition captions. Note: speech-to-text recognition is not 100% accurate, and it is recommended to review automatic closed captions before publishing a recording.

WebEx:

WebEx closed captioning also requires a participant to be designated to type Closed Captions. This setting will need to be enabled before the WebEx meeting is scheduled.
