Q: Trouble linking to Dropbox from Android device

  • Using the Dropbox app to connect an Android device to your MIT Dropbox for Business account, the Dropbox login page goes to a Touchstone single sign-on page, but it will not leave the Touchstone login page and go back to Dropbox.

Context

  • The Touchstone signin page returns a dbx-sso: URL, which should cause the browser to return to the page that it came from, with an authentication token.
  • Some Android browsers may not handle this properly, and stay at the Touchstone login page.
    • Chrome (may require multiple login attempts and then work)
    • Silk (Kindle)

Answer

  • Use an Android browser which is capable of dealing with single sign-on. These include:
    • Dolphin
    • Firefox
    • Chrome
    • CM Browser
  • Clear your default browser, under Settings > Application Manager > find your browswer > select "clear defaults"
