TSM 6.x for Mac OS X - First-Time Login
Steps
- In your Applications folder, go to Tivoli Storage Manager, and open TSM Tools for Administrators.
Result: The TSM Tools for Administrators window opens.
- Make sure that Tivoli Storage Manager is highlighted and then click OK.
Result: The Authenticate screen appears.
- Enter your username and OS X Administrator password, and click OK.
- For OS X 10.7 and 10.8 users: If at this point you are prompted to install the Java runtime, please click Install. Once Java has been installed, please start back at step 1 of these instructions.
- Otherwise:
Result: The TSM Login screen appears. Please note that it can take up to a couple of minutes for the TSM application to launch the first time.
- For OS X 10.7 and 10.8 users: If at this point you are prompted to install the Java runtime, please click Install. Once Java has been installed, please start back at step 1 of these instructions.
- Enter your TSM password and click Login. You received this password in email when you registered for your TSM account.
Note: If you are unable to enter a password successfully, you can reset your password automatically. If you still need help, contact the IS&T Service Desk.
Result: The main TSM window, IBM Tivoli Storage Manager, appears providing the options: Backup, Restore, Archive and Retrieve. TSM stores an authentication token locally so scheduled backups can authenticate and back up to the TSM server.
- Quit TSM.
Note: When you do your first-time login, it is important to quit the application so that your password will be stored locally for subsequent use.
