Repairing Disk Permissions OS X

The follow describes how to resolve some system errors by repairing disk permissions.

  1. Navigate to Applications > Utilities.
  2. Open the Disk Utility application.

  3. Select the hardware name of the hard drive your your computer (above "Macintosh HD" or whatever you have named your hard drive) and select Repair Disk Permissions. Note that this can and most likely will take a while.
