MITvoip Web Forwarding Calls on a Schedule

Overview

The ComSchedule feature allows specified call forwarding features to turn on automatically according to a weekly schedule. For example, a researcher who runs assays every morning might forward calls to the lab phone 9AM-11AM, Monday-Friday.

When a forwarding sequence is active, callers will hear the automated message "Please hold while I locate the person you are calling."

Creating ComSchedule Entries

  1. Access the MITvoip Console.
  2. Click on the Reach Me pane if it isn't open.
  3. Click on the ComSchedule title bar.
  4. Click on the Add button.
  5. Set the day (or days) of the week and the hours you want your calls forwarded using the controls circled in blue above. Be sure to select AM or PM for the start and end times.
  6. In the Treatment area, select how you want calls forwarded during this time period:
    • Select Desk phone to allow all incoming calls to ring at your desk phone.
    • Select All calls to to forward all incoming calls to another number or to your voice mail, as described in Simple Call Forwarding. A pull-down list will appear when you click the radio button.
    • Select Forwarding sequence to choose from a pull-down list of your defined forwarding sequences. See Setting a Call Forwarding Sequence, Simultaneous Ring, and Forwarding Calls by Group for instructions about defining sequences.Note: If you include a cell phone in the forwarding sequence, you might have to adjust the ring time setting.
  7. Click the OK button.
    Result: The forwarding will appear on the calendar. If you selected multiple days, all instances will appear in the same color.
  8. If you wish to add more forwarding to the calendar, repeat from Step 4.
  9. Click the Save button.
  10. To activate forwarding by schedule, click the ComSchedule radio button.
  11. To deactivate forwarding by schedule, click another radio button in the Reach Me pane.
    Note: During any time that does not have a scheduled entry, calls will be forwarded to the default setting shown in the upper right corner. You can change the default setting:
  12. Click on the Change button (circled in blue above).
  13. Choose how you want calls to be treated during times that aren't defined on the ComSchedule:
  14. Select Desk phone to allow all incoming calls to ring at your desk phone.
  15. Select All calls to to forward all incoming calls to another number or to your voice mail, as described in Simple Call Forwarding. A pull-down list will appear when you click on the radio button.
  16. Select Forwarding sequence to choose from a pull-down list of your defined forwarding sequences. See Setting a Call Forwarding Sequence, Simultaneous Ring, and Forwarding Calls by Group for instructions about defining sequences.
    Note: If you include a cell phone in the forwarding sequence, you might have to adjust the ring time setting.
  17. Click the OK button.
  18. Click the Save button.

Deleting or Changing Entries in ComSchedule

Note: For entries that were originally created on multiple days, your edits will only apply to the one appearance you select. To change all appearances, you must edit each one separately. Also, you cannot change the day of an entry. Instead, delete the entry and create a new one.

  1. Access the MITvoip Console.
  2. Click on the Reach Me pane if it isn't open.
  3. Click on the ComSchedule title bar.
  4. Click on the entry in the calendar that you want to edit.
  5. Do one of the following:
    • Edit the entry and click the OK button.
    • Click the Delete button to remove an entry from the schedule.
  6. Click the Save button.
