MITvoip Telephone Entering Text with the Number Keypad

When you need to enter text (e.g., entering a contact's name in your directory), the top of the display will show what kind of character it will enter when you use the keypad: A for capital letters, a for lowercase letters, and 1 for numbers.

  1. To enter text in a field, place your cursor in the field.
  2. Tap the 1/A/a soft key until the display shows the kind of character you want to enter.
  3. Press the number key with the letter you want until the correct letter is in the display.
  4. Wait for the cursor to move forward, and then do the same for the next character.

For example, to enter the name "Jane," make sure the top of the display shows A. Then press the 5 key once (J). Press the 1/A/a soft key so the top of the display shows a, and press the 2 key once (a). Press 6 twice (n) and then 3 twice (e).
