MITvoip Telephone Do Not Disturb

On this page:

Overview

The Do Not Disturb function stops any incoming calls from ringing on your phone. When activated, callers will be sent directly to your voice mail. (If you have configured a ring sequence, then the call will instead go to the next number in the sequence.)

You can also set Do Not Disturb remotely by forwarding all calls to voice mail with the Reach Me feature on the MITvoip Web Interface, which also offers many additional tools for directing incoming calls.

Use Do Not Disturb

If you have a Do Not Disturb button, press it. Otherwise, follow these steps:

  1. Press the Menu button.
  2. Select Features.
  3. Select Do Not Disturb.
  4. Press the Menu button to exit the menus.

Result: A flashing X icon will appear on all of the lines assigned to your phone, and the display will show "Do Not Disturb." On the Polycom 430, 550, and 650 phones, "Do Not Disturb" will rotate with the date on the display. A *crossed-out bell icon *will display as well.

All incoming calls will be diverted until you disable Do Not Disturb.

If you activate Do Not Disturb while a call is coming in, the ringing will be muted and the call will then be diverted. Do Not Disturb remains in effect until you turn it off.

If you have a shared line, Do Not Disturb will stop that line from ringing at your phone only. It will ring at any other phones assigned that number unless they also are set to Do Not Disturb.

Disable Do Not Disturb

If you have a Do Not Disturb button, press it. Otherwise, follow these steps:

  1. Press the Menu button.
  2. Select Features.
  3. Select Do Not Disturb.
  4. Press the Menu button to exit the menus.

Result: The flashing X, the bell icons, and the "Do not disturb" indicator will all disappear.
