Launch SQLPlus to test Oracle client connection

If you are seeing errors or unexpected behavior when launching BrioQuery, it may be helpful, as a troubleshooting measure, to attempt to log in to the Oracle database via SQLPlus. This can help to narrow down the source of the problem.

Instructions for log in to SQLPlus for Oracle 9i client

  1. From the Start menu, select All Programs > Oracle - OraHome 92 > Application Development > SQLPlus
  2. In the SQLPlus Login window, enter your Kerberos username, Data Warehouse password, and the host string "warehouse".
    Log in window

  3. If you are able to see "Connected to: Oracle Database 10g", with an SQL prompt, you have successfully access the Data Warehouse.
    Connected
