I tried to visit a "https" web page at MIT, but got an error in Google Chrome:
No data received
Unable to load the webpage because the server sent no data.
Here are some suggestions:
- Reload this webpage later.
Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): The server closed the connection without sending any data.
While Google Chrome is not an IS&T supported web browser, the Help Desk will do our best to assist you in accessing MIT sites via Chrome. For more information on IS&T supported web browsers, see: http://ist.mit.edu/software/browsers
In some cases, we have seen this error resolved by the following steps:
- Delete your MIT personal certificate.
- Obtain a new MIT MIT personal certificate, at http://ca.mit.edu.
If you get this error on https://web.mit.edu/ sites, try another browser, such as Internet Explorer, Safari or Firefox.
Google Chrome uses some special techniques to load web pages faster, sometimes has trouble with certain MIT websites, such as https://web.mit.edu/
