What are the IP address ranges used by the eduroam wifi network at MIT?
The eduroam wifi at MIT gives different IP address ranges based on how you sign in:
- If you sign into MIT's eduroam wifi with a MIT Kerberos account, you get an IP address in the 188.8.131.52/16 range, which is the same as the range used for MIT SECURE wifi.
- If you sign into MIT's eduroam wifi as a visitor with the credentials from your other institution, you get a connection that behaves like MIT GUEST wifi. Your computer will have a private IP address, and the connection goes through a network address translation (NAT) gateway which gives you an external address in the range used by MIT GUEST: 184.108.40.206/24
